miata seats

my miata seats should be here tomorrow. I was planning on installing them this
weekend so I checked out the install instructions on 311s.org. my question is
about the fender washer. is this just a large flat washer? dumb question im
sure but im curious. these have the speakers in the headrest also. how is the
sound with it right behind your head?
