This is what I had in my files. I used the Meat battery, its a little
shorter than stock. Interstate makes one that is the exact fit for the early
cars, its the same as the early Corvairs.

"You might look at a battery and the tray that you can get for it for a
Honda 92-93 Honda Civic. I saw it in another older roadster, and it was
small and compact, looked just like the original. Steve , '67 16OO in

Gary,
We often have people asking for light weight powerful batteries that can
be used in electric car competitions and this same battery would probably be
the best for you. Our MT58R is a 582cca battery with a reserve capacity of
100 minutes at 25 amps. the dimensions of the battery are 9 1/2 x 7 1/4 x 6
7/8 and the weight is 32 pounds.

Moss Motors and many Miata parts suppliers sell the batteries. They are not
from Mazda but are manufactured by Westco Battery Systems. Their Tel No. is
1-800-214-8040. Part No. is 12V31M.

They use Absorbed Glass Mat technology with "no possibility of corrosion or
leakage."

I ran into a guy a while back with a really sweet Volvo 1800 who had an
Odyssey battery - about the size of a MC battery but designed for autos.
The person to contact at Odyssey is Phil, his number is 888 777 1898. This
was about a year ago so I don't know if the number is still good.
Recommended part numbers were: PC680MJT or PC925MJT"

Good luck.
