Does anyone have an opinion / experience on retrofitting a pair of Miata
Seats in a 66 1600 vrs installation of a pair of seats from a 1970 1600?
My 66 has been parked for over 27 years, had a complete life since it was
last running, the original seats are shot.
I have a 1970 1600 parts car with much better seats but also in rough shape.
We are considering the Miata Seats or a refurbishment & retrofit of the
1970 1600 Seats .
We kind like the seats from the 1970 1600 but they need a lot of work. The
other question I had was has anyone done this before? Does the driver
position , height, seats tracks ect work out well with the newer Roadster
seats? The seats seem pretty comfortable, a nice wrap around seat back
with a head rest to boot.
Does anyone have any experience with refurbishing the 1970 Roadster seats,
vendor seat kits ect. We have a very skilled automotive ulpholster where I
work, so if I can source the materials reasonablely and sort out the seat
tracks ect. that may be agood way to go.
