| I used a late 80's V6 Camero alternator in my 1969 1600. It only puts out 45 amps on demand but I still used in-line 30 amp fuses. Just like Eric, I let my battery run down and toasted the fuse when the alternator kicked in. About an hour on a recharger and I was good to go again. For a bracket I used the early 1600 alternator bracket. Then when I had to replace the water pump, I had to switch to a smog pump bracket to keep the pulleys aligned. Paul Kort Ohio |
