This brings up another interesting possibility: I haven't been to a gas
station
in 2 years. My daily driver (2001 VW Jetta TDI) is converted to run on used
vegetable oil from local restaurants. So now, (purists turn away from the
screen) I have a Turbo Diesel engine and 5 speed trans that are being prepped
to
go in the Datsun. Top-down Datsun fun, at 50 MPG on free vegetable oil. Sure
beats a Prius. Oh, and it's renewable energy, great for the environment, and an
American made fuel. OK, sounds kinda funny, though. clackety-clackety-clack.

"You must not let your tank get down very far, then. 11.7 gals @$3.00 per
gal is $35. Putting in $20 worth and not filling it is getting easier all
the time. Wait'll this summer when it hits $4 per gal and you won't even get
half a tank.

LPG/Autogas is looking better all the time, BUT, greedy government is
raising the excise on that as well :(
