Thanks to all who replied. 

The car has less than 50 miles on it since the head was re-installed last fall 
so the water tower came off easy--as did the gaskets. This is why I wondered 
about the use of gasket sealer since the gaskets came off so easy and there is 
nothing to clean off of the metal surfaces. I also knew to avoid silicone. I 
had already bought anit-sieze for the re-install of the water tower.  

It seems like everytime I try to search the 311 forum, I don't find what I am 
looking for. Then someone will send me the link for exactly what I am asking 
about. Sorry again for this.

Now, here is another question:

What do people use for anti freeze- coolant? Any brand work better for our hot 
headed lilttle girls? Any brand to avoid? I do know about the 60-40 water to 
cooland ratio that is recommended.
