I played around with all three of the windshield clamps when the top shop
forgot to put the spacer back in the center clamp.  After making a new
center spacer (Shasta was too close to wait for them to open) and playing
with the gap by adding and removing washers I finally found a spacing that
allowed me to clamp the top frame down and it did not pop off.  The problem
then was the side clamps.  Figuring what was good for the gander is good for
the goose I made thin spacers for each side clamp made things much more
reliable.  I have hit some solid bumps without popping the clamps off of the
windshield.  They are now solid, easy to clamp and release, and do not
rattle at all.

To clamp the top I start with the outside clamps and the center clamp lines
up without any problem.
