I too have a custom made tow bar that bolts to the bumper mounts, used it
successfully quite often before I sprung for a race trailer. However, the
plates with the holes for the bumper mounting have a tendency to break the
weld at the attachment to the frame, so check them frequently.

Steve -

I have had a custom made towing assembly that works extremely well. I
have towed roadsters all over the country or just across town using this set

up. You remove the front bumper and attach the tow bar (which makes a
great
bumper when you leave on). This was made from square tubing welded to
flat heavy duty iron that was drilled for the nuts (we did make it oblong
hole
for aligning better). We also welded corner triangle pieces for support.
I can send pix for better visual if you want. Used this for 30 years with
a variety of roadsters.

Group,

Has anyone ever towed their roadster behind a motor home? I'm thinking
about
doing this myself. It appears that I would need to build the attachment
points on the front of the frame myself since there aren't any manufactures
that make attachment brackets anymore for our little cars. I would also
have
to disconnect the driveshaft when towing plus install a light and indicator
connection to the car. Any other considerations that I've missed?

Thanks
