Actually, the Allies vs Axis was in my other TR4, the one with suspension
improvements but stock drive train (so far), and I was waaaaaay behind JK and
many others. But we had a great time and I recommend it highly for next year
if anyone's in the neighborhood.
I did finally get to drive the X-Wheeler car this weekend at the SCCA Driver's
school at Roebling road. It's absolutely AWESOME on the track, even with a
total novice at the wheel, and I managed to get through the school.
Unfortunately, I had lots of problems keeping it running, due to lack of
preparation on my part and some engine problems. What we thought might have
been a broken ring or two became a blown head gasket (at least) and a huge
cloud of smoke.
Otherwise it was a great weekend and I sure learned a lot about racing. Don't
know about Portland yet, but maybe.
