Dear FOTers

Re the Mid-Ohio MG/Triumph Challenge races this year.

I've noticed there's some healthy 'banter' going on about the MG/Triumph
Challenge. Now I know you Triumph racers are going to show those MG boys
how to race AND WIN with your Triumphs. BUT dont wind the MG boys up too
much before the event. Far better to lead them into a false sense of
security by discreetly putting out that most of the Triumph team are
running with 'tired engines' on rev limits, or with the wrong rear axle or
gear box ratios because to replace the 'blown ones' presents an un -
solvable financial problem in time for the race etc.etc.- Then give em hell
on the day.

I once witnessed a very important motor cycle race at Cadwell Park, here in
England, and Barry Sheen was leading the race hands down and doing
'wheelies' right down the pit straight five laps from the finish. He was
leading on the pen-ultimate lap by about 60 yards. When he came out of the
last right hander onto the pit straight for the last lap, he gave the rider
behind (who's name escapes me) a 'Harvey Smith' - the two fingered V sign.
The rider behind him was so incensed he pulled out every stop on the last
lap and won the race by 20 yards!!

If Irv Korey's going - for god's sake don't let him were those overalls of
his - the ones that say 'I'd rather eat worms than drive an MG' on the
back.

The best of luck guys and have a happy Easter

Paul
