For those interested in the "ballistic transmission blanket" please respond
to me directly. I am taking orders. The blanket is made to fit Triumph
"Bell" housing and gearboxes. It attaches to two transmission/engine bolts
on the top of the bell housing and has three very heavy duty straps to keep
it tight around the transmission. There is heat reflective material on the
exhaust side. It has a black covering material and is 1/2 " thick
multilayer ballistic fabric. It was patterned onto a TR4 gearbox but will
fit spitfires, GT6 and of course TR3's and 6's. It is REGISTERED and SFI
approved. It is made by a well known Southern California Safety company.
The material has been independantly tested on a stationary motor and
transmission assembly. The gearbox was turned to 14,000rpm when it
exploded. The blanket contained all debris (i.e. it passed). I will try
to get a photo of a unit and post it on my www site or will make a JPEG
attachement onto another email.

My cost is 225.00/ea ( I bought two). Price does not include shipping (it
weighs about 8lbs) and tax if in California. I will take orders for two
weeks until August 15. I accept Visa/MC . Credit Cards not charged until
all orders are "in". At that time confirmation will be made. If enough
orders are obtained price of unit may decrease.
