Several of you have asked for more information about the electrical system 
I outlined below.  Please email me your (US Mail) address so I can send you 
a wiring diagram along with the specs for the Chrysler control box.  If you 
want me to fax it, send me your fax number.

If you're interested in doing this conversion, I suggest you take your 
current Lucas distributor with you to a junkyard, along with a set of 
calipers to measure both distributors.  Find an electronic distributor from 
a late 70's or early 80's small Nissan (F-10, B-210, 610, etc) and measure 
the diameter of the shaft.  If they are the same, measure the overall 
length of the shaft to make sure the shaft on the Nissan distributor is at 
least as long as the Lucas.  If it's a little longer, you may have to use a 
small shim (I think I used about a 1/4 inch shim on top of the distributor 
pedestal (TR-3/4)).  I also used the Nissan hold down clamp (better design 
than the Lucas).  The drawing I will send you will have all the rest of the 
information you will need for the installation.

Although I am currently running a Mallory dual point in my TR3, adding
electronic switching (magnetic or optical) will add $100 to the cost. 
 Also,
if I choose to add an electronic spark control module, like an MSD, it will
require disconnecting my 2nd set of points.  With that in mind, your
Datsun/Nissan conversion would make a lot of sense, freeing up dollars and
the Mallory for another vehicle.

What else do I need to know to build/install one of these?
