Greetings fot, I am the owner of a 1959 Ambro Triumph currently racing with
RMVR in
Colorado. It is a TR 3 chassis with 1957 TR 4 running gear and engine. My
father Bill
Ames designed and built the car in 1959 and raced it in the Midwest through
about 1964 and
then the Northeast from 1992 until his death in 1997. I am in my second full
year as a
driver, mechanic etc. trying to keep it all together and really enjoying all
that vintage
racing has to offer. Ok enough, here are my first round of questions.
1. Rear axle. Grease coming onto the brake drums. New, rebuilt axle is one
season old.
(about 30 hours) Limited slip. I noticed this after racing at PPIR and the 36
degree
banking. Do I need to replace the seals and if so, does one need any special
tools. I.E.:
to remove the axle. It is keyed and is it held in with a "C" clip?

2. Is it legal to lower the front end and if so how do you do it? 1- 2 inches?

3. How does one check the front end for stress? I am running Mini-lights with
Yokohama's
and they stick. What points should I look for?

4. After each race I totally check the car over, but wondered of there are
specific points
of concern that should be checked after each run other than the normal stuff.

Thank you in advance for the help.
