Hi Mark, et al,
I had spoken with Rocky about being nominated to this list some months ago, and
after some thought on his part, he decided he just did not have the time and
effort to keep up with it. Believe me, I twisted his arm as much as I could
electronically, but he just didn't feel it would be beneficial to him or his
writing at that time.
Darn shame, too. He's a good and knowledgeable guy!

What prompted this was a message Rocky sent to the W2W list, which I will
include below. I was going to remind him of the numerous kind words sent to
this list last week about Lee Mueller when I happened to wonder if Rocky was
on this list as for some reason I assumed he was. He is now.

Two memories:
A photo of Wichita Region driver Rick Estes and Mueller in their MGBs side
by side, taken from the roof of the clubhouse at Hallett. It looks like
Estes is giving Mueller all he can handle. Actually, Mueller was lapping
Rick.
Paul Newman winning his first National Championship in 1976 after a stirring
dice with Mueller -- Lee in the new and factory-backed TR7 and Newman
putting it away with the "old" TR6. Margin of Victory was 0.84 of a second.
