Hear, hear.

I've signed. I love Speedvision. I have a TV in my shop with a sign under
it that says "If you don't want to watch Speedvision, you're in the wrong
place". The sale to Fox made sense, but they are bound to make substantial
changes. It's also personally unfortunate--I know the VP and CEO, and they
were very generous in getting me backstage passes to events I attended. I
doubt Fox will be as forthcoming.

The Legends of Motorsport footage is a major assets of Speedvision. Roger
Warner told me that they bought rights to a huge archive of historical
stuff. A great library. I bet the production costs for those programs sets
an all-time low record--a few minutes of Roger D explaining the segment,
and that's it. Nickelodeon levels. Fox doesn't care as much about
production costs, and so they'd be likely to fill the slots with higher
viewer ship segments.

Things are already changing rapidly. The regional Fox Sports Network
channels are already broadcasting LeMans recaps, GrandAm races, etc. All
of
which is good, compared to endless replays of "NASCAR Today".

What will almost certainly be lost in the shuffle are the priceless films
shown on "Legends of Motorsport" of sports car and Formula 1 races of the
fifties and sixties. The historic british racing series "A Motor Racing
Diary" has already disappeared.
