I wonder if the flywheel exploded and took the old style(?) clutch cover with 
it, or was it the clutch cover alone. TR guys might be interested in the 
details.

The Turner driver described exactly what saw.  There was step out of the rear 
going to about 45 degrees yaw and it seemed like a sudden hook up of the 
tires on the asphalt.   It occurs to me that a sudden lift on the gas, might 
have shifted a lot of weight to the front wheel and unloaded the 
rear...precisely at the wrong time.  No expert here.
