I measured the steering racks on my street TR6 and my TR4 race car.

To the best of my ability to measure, they are identical. In addition, the 
housing and the rack are shown in the Moss TR6 and TR4 catalogs as the same 
part number, although they are no longer available.

I also tried to measure the tie rods, difficult because the rubber boots 
are installed on both cars. I got the same measurement on the two cars so 
that was not much help.

For tie rods, the Moss catalog shows TR4 as part 667-215 (again NLA) but 
the TR4A and TR6 part numbers are identical, 667-220.

Therefore it would appear that the rack and pinion housing and assembly 
were the same for all the cars, but the tie rods differed. I know that the 
steering arms, which bolt to the trunnions, and to which the tie rod end is 
fastened, are different between the TR4 and TR4A/6. At this point I'm only 
guessing, but I'll bet that the difference is just in the length of the tie 
rods, to make up for the difference in the steering arms.

By the way, the uprights and trunions for the TR4A and tR6 are more stout 
than the TR4 parts, but they require different bushings and the matching 
lower a-arms which are machined differently at the outer end to accept the 
proper bushings.
