As you will recall Carroll Smith advocated warming tires by alternatlely
accelerating hard enough to break the rears loose followed bt hard nraking.
I have never been on a pace lap where that looked feasible (or safe) and my
car certainly doesn't have enough power to break the rear tires loose when
it's rolling. Snaking seems to be the only option.
