We have a Jetta TDI auto transmission and are running it on 50/50
biodiesel. Great car. I have had friends that are use to V8's say that
it's enemic, but, our other car is a Civic with a 1.6L SOHC Manual,
and the Jetta performs just as well. Even with the auto and the AC
running the Jetta is just as strong. It's also the most quiet diesel
I've ever known. The VW system is heads above the other offerings here
in the states. I imagine that engine performs better in the Golf
seeing that it is a lighter car. On the other hand I would worry about
the Passat with an engine that's only .1 liter larger but weighing
another 500 - 1000 lbs. Lovin' my VW now...lets see when I have to buy
parts. I'm sure it's higher than the Honda.
