[FOT] diff adjustment

I have a couple of rear axles to do this winter.

When the number of shims under the pinion head bearing race must be 
changed, that race must be put in and out maybe more than once.

Does anybody have a good idea for a bearing puller that will pull 
that race without destroying the shims, or do I just need to buy a 
lot of shims?
