Heads up message.
The rear axle conversion that eliminates the possibility of rear axle
and hub breakage in TR3 - TR4's has been a wonderful safety
improvement for our cars. Southwick Machine and Design designed the
axle and has done the conversion.
Southwick's main business is serving local industries. During the
last couple of years, the amount of work subcontracted from these
companies to local firms like Southwick has steadily diminished to
the point that Southwick employment is down to one person, Bob
Southwick, the owner. Bob is going to close his shop to full time
business and go to work for another company. He plans to continue
doing some selected jobs during evenings and weekends.
The reason for this message is to alert anyone who is contemplating a
Southwick conversion to get their order in early. Bob is proud of the
fact that he always meets his promised delivery dates on every job he
does -- something pretty rare in this business. Bob's intention is to
continue to do the TR axle conversions, but personally I'd expect the
lead time and the communications to be more difficult to deal with.
