There are 6.25" center to center small block Chevy rods readily available.
This is the same center to center distance as TR3/4's. You would likely need
to change the small end bearing and then be able to still use your TR3/4
pistons.
For those racing vintage you could probably get away with re-sized crank
journals, but if racing SCCA it is a no-no (has to be std size or a std
undersize). Unless you are blowing away the competition running nationals
you could probably get away with this in SCCA too. Not too often they do a
tear down unless they have good reason to. Not much of a competitive
advantage, but should be easier on the wallet. Joe(B)

Good news:
One of the manufacturers agrees to make the journal size to your spec. So, if
you want Chevy, ford or Honda (or for that matter any size..) that has to be
known in advance and placed with the order. But, this is a very good thing as
domestic (Chevy/Ford)rods are easy and cheap. Bearings are easy to get and
this solves a whole lot of issues. The Center to Center distances may mean
ordering pistons, however.
I know some of you have already looked into this in detail.

Which domestic rod length comes closest to std Triumph?

I will let you know tomorrow about costs.
