I use the standard filler cap from Triumph. Never complaint about that at
scrutineering I just have to use a tape strap to safety the cap.

Oh, I knew you were just having fun with it, and to a point me too.

Actually, everything you write below I agree with. It *is* fun with our LBCs

to try to save a few of those silly little things that make them
distinctively Triumph. I still have the Monza flip-cap gas filler on my car
for just that reason. Of course, it isn't connected to anything now, just
there for looks. You have to open the trunk lid to fill the fuel cell.
(Besides, flip caps are illegal on race cars.)

A guy I knew made his Spitfire into a screamer autocross Modified class car.

A fun thing was to find stuff on his car that was still Spitfire. My
favorite -- he still had the cowl-mounted ashtray.
