Greg,

I have decided to go with the H beam rods mentioned in yesterday's post from
Ireland Engineering.

They are just like the Carillo's. They are for a TR4.

I still can't figure out why # 3 rod would quit oiling other than a
contaminant in an oil passage.

Sorry I don't know, but what car is this for? B I run Chevy rods in a TR3
motor. B I can tell you, they are bullet proof, but there is some
complication on the piston guided rod setup I am using. B I do not weld
up the rod as you suggest.

I spun my # 3 rod bearing last weekend and my crank is already at .040
under.

It turned the rod blue so it's toast. I know it's been discussed before
but I think

it may be time to weld the crank and go to Chevy rods.

Any advice for the conversion ?
