Mike:

As part of your research, I'd recommend you contact Jeff at Advanced
Distributor (www.advanceddistributors.com) in Minnesota. He was recommended
to me by Joe Alexander. I had a dual-point Mallory distributor go bad and
after talking with Jeff, decided to buy one of his rebuilt, Pertronix
equipped, Lucas units with an advance curve tailor made for my 1962 TR4
vintage racer. Price was $225, vintage correct, works like a charm and
promptly delivered. Jeff supplies advance spec on outside of package so you
know how to install it and he can also supply spare parts for the Lucas
(cap, rotor, etc) and provide a trade in for your old Lucas unit if you have
one to send. He also recommended Magnecor spark plug wires which I bought
directly from Magnecor.

Worth checking out. I have no financial interest, just a recommendation for
a good supplier.

Gary

The car is getting closer. The engine is back the fuel cell is installed
the
additions to the roll cage are almost completed.

I am looking for imput on
the distributor. My engine guy said the weights on the distributor seem to
be
stuck. I have not taken it apart to see what the deal is. With all that
said
is there suggestion on what I should do with the distributor. Should I get
this one rebuilt. Should I buy a new one? Should I do the pertronix
distributor?

Thanks

Mike
