I believe that all depends on the car and engine bring used.  That little bit
of extra info might help

My friend has his tank next to him where the other seat would be with a manual
switch to turn it on and off. It is plumbed into the block at the oil filter.
His engine was produced in a way that there was an external oil line from the
rear of the block to the oil filter. It is a MGB 5 main block.  Just make sure
you have the check valve in the correct direction.
