I=E2=80=99ve got a 5 lb Halon bottle with nozzles in my car that is at =
least 10 years old, probably more. I=E2=80=99ve heard the product cakes =
up and will no longer work after a while, so I=E2=80=99m interested in =
making sure the car is as safe as can be.

I=E2=80=99ve looked at replacement systems (this one is SPA, they no =
longer service Halon) and they will cost at least $700 if I want =
something that is legal for SCCA.

Anyone know if the Halon actually does become unserviceable, or have =
experience getting the Halon bottle tested/refilled?
Yes, Halon is ozone depleting and no longer sold. However, I=E2=80=99ve =
still got a tank full!=
