I had been using MTL in my racing diff for 7 years without a problem. This =

last year when I built a new diff with a new gear set, things did not go we=
ll. I used MTL and destroyed the gears in about 20 laps. The gears actually=
melted. The only conclusion I could draw was that I did not have the EP ad=
ditive package required for hypoid gears during the critical break in perio=
d for the new gears.=C2=A0
I now use the redline shock proof which does have the EP additives. Works l=
ike a champ. =C2=A0I have a welded diff.=C2=A0
