Hi Jay.=C2=A0 I'm glad that worked for you.=C2=A0 But 90 Wt. is pretty thi=

persuaded by knowledgeable Triumph experts that 50 Wt. or even 30 Wt would=

Hi Glenn,

Having built numerous OD units, I have run into a couple of instances where=
the cone clutch needed to "bed in". If you installed a new cone clutch, th=
e angle of the linings may not be an exact match to the brake ring and annu=
lus and it will stick when applied. A good swift rap (or two or three) on t=
he exterior of the brake ring with a dead blow hammer will release the clut=
ch. Had this happen with Henry Frye's race car at Summit Point a few years =
ago. Driving around the paddock with the gearbox cover off and excersising =

=C2=A0

Happy New Year

Quick Question

I have rebuilt numerous A-types over the last few years, but I have one tha=
t's been giving us fits.

Transmission was a TR6 and the mainshaft was replaced with the proper overd=
rive shaft for the A-type.

The A-type appears to be an early one with steel piston rings on the apply =
pistons.=20

The pump was replaced and puts out +300 psi during testing.

The overdrive and trans was tested by back spinning from the tailshaft flan=
ge with an electric motor.

The overdrive appears to be engaged and it appears that the pressure will n=
ot drop.

The pressure relief at the pump was removed and the accumulator was loosene=
d to relieve the pressure.

Now trans in neutral the output shaft of the overdrive appears to be locked=
 up and will not spin.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Glenn
