Yes. I'm sure that is what's happened here.  The shims are too soft.  The go=
lden shims are hardened and probably grade8 with no stampings or identificat=
ion. Golden color same as grade 8 hardware. The other shims are stamped, val=
ve spring shim and Houser, Blufton, Ind. =20
