A while back someone on FOT posted about a threaded insert that is supposed t=
o hold the block together around the crack. Seems like a good idea. We have t=
wo blocks with similar cracks ( yes, it is common especially if the head stu=
ds are over torqued) and they will get this treatment. Here is a link:
