Don,
Undo and remove the two shock mounting bolts, then undo the link to axle
nut. Slide shock body down and away from mounting then when clear of
mounting plate you'll be able to remove the link from it's mounting
position. Take link/shock assembly to bench and separate tapered link pin
from shock arm. Inspect link rubber bushings and make sure they are tight
and rubber hasn't deteriorated.
When replacing, install link on shock arm, slide link pin through hole in
axle mount, replace shock mounting bolts (only if in excellent condition)
and install new lockwashers and nuts on mounting bolts and link mounts.
Tighten all.
If it's necessary to replace worn mounting bolts because shock has been
running loose, install new high grade bolts of same size.
