Hi Carlos,

I have never used any of the newfangled electronic ignitions with my old
model British cars, and have never wished I had. I am currently using a
Mallory dual-point distributor on my BN4, and other than a minor carb
balance adjustment last week, the car runs like a champ. Like Neil said, you
might try installing points again to see if that corrects the problem.

By the way, my engine developed a very slight miss a week or so ago only
during acceleration (similar to the famous TR6 miss), but would smooth out
once leveling off during highway speeds. The solution was to rebalance the
carbs. They were only slightly out of adjustment, and adjusting them with a
special rubber tuning hose solved the problem.....

during acceleration. It runs rough in all situations. I thought at first
it was the rear carb, giving the coughing, sputtering coming from that one
carb. The front one seems to run just fine. I've taken the carbs apart
twice now and everything seems to be in working order. The problem
persists.

is the first Petronix system I've had and don't know how to trouble shoot
it. I pulled the cap and the unit looked OK. Can someone explain the
symptoms one would experience with this ignition system when it starts to go
faulty? BTW, I did replace the coil recently.
