Michael ... l have the LUCAS service manual , it says the bulb filament can
never be merely a pin point , the filament is not all at the focal point of the
reflector , the stray light it causes is controled by the lens ... The hood
attachement in the centre of the SLR 700 SLR576 P700 with the clear lens
some of the rays are projected upwards at about 45 degrees ,the hood suppresses
some of this glare ... but the hood looks good ...
do you have any dates yet ?? l will show you this Lucas book at that time ...
