i just finished putting a choke cable in a bj8. the one ordered from moss was
2 3/4 inches shorter than the old one, and would not make it to the firewall
when tightened at the dash. found an old style cable that just used friction
to lock it in place and soldered the end so it would fit through the small
hole in the clamp. i found that i had to make sure the lever arm was raised
as high as possible before tightening the clamps on the choke wires because
otherwise it would not open the jets enough and not really choke the car, only
speed up the idle. if the guy is happy we will leave this choke cable in, at
least until i can get longer ones. healeymanjim
