Hi Mel,
There is nothing really special about the healey 6 cyl head. 
Two things that seem to get a lot of people into trouble are:
1.  the little oil feed pipe to the rocker shaft. The banjo bolt for this
threads into one of the rocker shaft pedestals and protrudes into a hole in
the rocker shaft itself. When you are reinstalling the rocker shaft make
sure that you have the banjo bolt in place in the pedestal and lined up with
the hole in the rocker shaft. It is very easy to strip the thread in the
pedestal and there is no way that you can align the hole once the shaft is
installed. 
2. pull the push rods out very carefully because the lifters will stick to
them and lift out of their bores. Once out you usually need to remove the
side cover to get them back in.

Fellow Enthusiasts

I am about to remove the head from my 67 BJ8 6 and I need to know if there
is anything that is unusual about the healey head that I should know about
beforehand. It looks pretty straight forward. There is nothing in the repair
manual that looks menacing, but one small detail overlooked can ruin your
whole week.  Been there.

I would appreciate any informed reply.
