Actually, the fenders on the BN2s, for the first month or so of production,
were the same as the BN1s, i.e., without the swage line. When the changeover
occurred specifically is not known.
I know of two Factory 100Ms that not only have the smooth rear fenders one
even has the BN1 front fenders with the smaller wheel opening. It was a very
original 18K mile from new car!
