Paul,

Is it possible for you to DELIVER the two batteries to the seller? I'm SURE
they can tweak some strings with the manufacturer.

IF your story is true, they should make it right. They will get enough good
press to equal whatever loss they have to eat, if any (refer above).

If they stiff you, they will surely lose from it. It is absolutely
INCREDIBLE what a small, nay miniscule, dumb move can do to a business. An
example:

There was a chain-style discount hardware store in our town. On a very few
items, the customer was permitted to help themselves to selected bulk items,
provided they brought a cutting tag to the register. On a busy Saturday, an
older woman came up to the line with about 3 feet of lamp cord (about 12
cents a foot at the time) without a cutting tag. The (young) clerk was
totally helpless/clueless. People started to stack up behind the woman, as
the discussion at the register went from ridiculous, to bad, to worse. There
were offers to simply pay, not only by the women, but by other customers as
well, but the clerk (apparently) was not allowed by the store's computer to
complete the sale without the cutting tag reference. It was FINALLY resolved
by the intervention of a "manager", and, they got their 36 cents. They ALSO
got about ten terminally pissed-off customers, and a bunch of merchandise
laid on the floor, by same, before they left in anger, which they DIDN'T
sell, AND had to restock!

The point - there comes a time is business when you have to think beyond the
box. The clerk should have GIVEN the woman the lamp cord!!

BTW, that store has closed - in fact, I think the whole chain is now kaput,
and I believe it was at least partly due the management culture which
permitted a situation like that to occur.

Just my $.02 worth
