Using safety gear, carefully dump the battery acid out of the batteries  into 
appropriate plastic container(s), flush batteries with water, again  
collecting the fluid, discard water / acid in keeping with appropriate  local 
laws and 
ship the batteries back to your supplier. Batteries all  have some 
manufacture's warranty period and if abuse is not evident  there should be some 
adjustment made.
