Well, actually (as my son would say) the original rock and roll died around
1958 when I was just getting out of high school when Buddy Holly, the Big
Bopper and Ritchie Valens died in a plane crash; Gene Vincent and Frankie
Lyman died of drug overdoses, Elvis went into the army; Gerry Lee Lewis and
Chuck Berry had morals charges, Little Richard found religion again; the
Everly Brothers stopped talking to each other and Alan Freed was kicked off
of the air in a payola scandal. (Think the day the music died by Don
MacLean). Then we segued into several years of soft junk and Beach Party
movies until the Beatles started singing what were by then the oldies from
the original rock and rollers (take a look at their first albums), had some
hits, wrote their own stuff and revived rock and roll. From 58 to around 63
I fell into progressive and modern Jazz until the Beatles rekindled rock.

But Rock and Roll didn't start till 64 with the Fab Four. What web sight
would that be?

I can't work on my car without the "retrotunes" in the background. Its a
must.

Thanks, Mark
