The most common cause of a rebuilt speedo to fail early. The length of 
most of the new cables are to long and will hit the inside mechanisim 
on the speedo. The inner cable should only stick out 3/16 past the end 
of the nylon piece that is pressed onto the cable.
Any more than that and you will damage a speedo.
