Get on the interstate and have your navigator time the intervals between
mileposts, 60 seconds being 60 mph.  If you have or can borrow a watch
with a tachymeter, you can read the speed over a measured mile
directly.  Or use a GPS as a pretty accurate speedo for comparison
purposes.
