the best gear ratio are on the 100-6, more evenly distributed , whithout the
big gap between second and third, as in the 3000 and even more in the mk3.
At 5500rpm, you have, respectively for the 1st, second, third, third OD,
forth and forth OD:
for the 100-6: 33 - 53 - 75 - 92 - 100 - 123
for the 3000: 36 - 52 - 81 - 99 - 106 - 129
for mk3: 40 - 51 - 81 -99 - 106 - 129
all these speeds with the original rear end ratio and original overdrive
ratio
It could be usefull to change the gears of a later gearbox for the 100-6
one, that what I have done, before changing (I am currently saving the money
for
that) for a
Sebring set: 58 - 75 - 80 - 102 - 100 - 128
here the OD is useless in third and I am using a 28% od and a 4,11 rear end.
