My BN1 Healey is the third car I have fit the Petronix iginition on. After
hooking it up and resetting the timing (easily less than an hour) they have
all run fine with no problems. Pretty much looks stock except the wiring is
a little different, and easy to reverse (most everybody carries around their
old points etc, in the trunk in case of a breakdown)
I thought it would smooth out the idle a little in the cars I put it in but
if there was any discernable difference for me it was smoother and maybe a
little stronger running in the mid and higher RPM ranges.
Seems like some British car mag or Grassroots Motorsports or somebody did a
test on these a few years back and I think it was worth about 5 HP on a
stock MGB.
