Plating of the Seat Slides

Listers,
I would like to refurbish the seat slides on my BJ7. Should they be cad or
zinc plated? Also I assume that they need to be completely disassembled before
plating? Any problems with sufficient sliding clearances between the balls and
tracks due to plating thickness? I would appreciate any advice you have on
this topic. I'd like to keep all parts on this car as original as possible
rather than buying new slides.
