When it comes to welding what you need is some instruction and then
practice, practice, practice and more prctice.
I normally use sheet metal that is 0.9 mm thick for things like this.
Repairs to the frame need thicker.
What you need to do is to match the amps with the speed of the wire feed,
and then you need to match that combination with the thickness of the
material you are welding, the thicker the material the more amps you need.
Try to pulse your welding, just a short seam (more like a spot). Then let it
cool down a bit, and continue with an other short seam (spot). Later on you
will be able to do longer seams, but you will need more practice. It's also
important to have the two pieces you are welding clamped together somehow.
Then you need some more practice ;-).
