Paul -

Almost all BJ8s (like yours) do not use Panhard rods.  They use radius
arms which are connected from the rear axle to the little box located
at the bottom of the rear seat kick panel.  The radius arms, by most
accounts, are an improvement over the panhard rods and they have the
added benefit of reducing tramping... but that probably doesn't really
matter unless you are a racer!!!
