For a 6 cyl engine use the rule of 13.
With #1 valve compressed (#1 cyl exhaust) adjust #12 i.e. 13 - 1 = 12.
With #6 valve compressed (#3 cyl Inlet) adjust # 7 ........... 13 - 6 = 7
