If you really wanted to, probably a good idea would be to install the
pre-heaters they put on later MGBs between the Strombergs and the
manifold.... these pre-heaters, triggered by engine temperature, would
turn on when the engine was cold to atomize fuel droplets from the
auto-choke.

Don't know if it would bolt onto a healey, but it's a good idea.  
They look exactly like the carb spacers and are quite possibly the
same size as the SU 1-3/4" four-bolt throat body.
