Did you actually loosen the clamp that holds the actuating rod to the
throttle switch so that the internal works can be moved independent of the
rod? This situation sounds exactly like mine a month ago. Loosening the
clamp and adjusting the rod travel solved the problem.

Firstly thanks to everyone for your advice

The problem still persists, the solenoid is permanently engaging in third
and fourth gear regardless of the position of the dash switch.

The switch seems ok. No current outgoing in the normal position only in the
overdrive setting.

Power at the fuse block and relay. ( one thing I do notice is the relay
pings louder when turning off the ignition off rather than on.

I have tried disconnecting the throttle switch, with no difference.

I have adjusted the throttle switch to work at 1/5th opening with no
difference,

Gear switch obviously works, solenoid is audibly and visually working

I am so confused now I have come in from the garage to watch the Eurovision
song contest!!!

Finland winning so far.

Would appreciate some wisdom!
